Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information The Medicare Notebook collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Effective August 28, 2026Information you choose to provide
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information in your message. If you request a free resource or subscribe when a form is available, we collect the email address and any other fields shown on that form.
Do not send Social Security numbers, Medicare numbers, medical records, payment information, or other sensitive personal information. We do not need those details to provide general educational content.
Information collected automatically
The website is hosted through Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and security signals.
At launch, The Medicare Notebook does not run advertising cookies or a separate audience-analytics service on this website. If that changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before the new tracking is used.
How information is used
- to deliver a resource or email series you requested;
- to respond to questions, correction reports, or support requests;
- to operate, secure, and improve the website;
- to comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use subscriber information to determine Medicare eligibility, recommend a plan, or make health or insurance decisions.
Email service
When newsletter or resource-delivery forms are active, subscriber information is processed through EmailOctopus, our email service provider. Emails include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future marketing or educational sequence emails, although we may retain limited records needed to honor the opt-out and meet legal obligations.
Service providers
We use service providers only for functions needed to operate the publication, such as Cloudflare for domain, hosting, security, and email routing, and EmailOctopus for email delivery when forms are active. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy notices.
External links
Our pages link to Medicare.gov, CMS, SSA, YouTube, and other third-party sites. A third party may collect information when you follow its link. Its privacy policy, not this one, controls that site.
Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, to maintain suppression records, resolve disputes, secure the service, or meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe from an email using the link in that message. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete information you provided, subject to legal and technical limits. Privacy rights can vary based on where you live.
International processing
The publication serves a U.S. audience and is operated from the European Union. Service providers may process information in the United States, the European Economic Area, or other locations where they operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
Children
This website is intended for adults researching Medicare. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, email service, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a material change is published.
